Biography

I was born in the Netherlands and came to Canada as a young girl. I have always enjoyed learning and quickly became proficient in English. I became a teacher and enjoyed interacting with students. My husband and I spent two years teaching in Nigeria in West Africa and enjoyed the challenges of living in a different culture.

After several years in which I was very involved in my community as a volunteer, I went back to university and thoroughly enjoyed my years as a student. I received my Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1997. I began teaching at the University of Saskatchewan in 1999 while working on my thesis for my Master of Science in Accounting degree. I successfully completed my thesis in September 2001.
