Rawlco Aboriginal Business Student Ambassadors

Promoting a business education to Aboriginal youth, developing professional networks, being role models and mentors, are some of the ways Aboriginal ESB students and alumni can support ESB and their communities.  As a Rawlco Aboriginal Business Student Ambassador, you can inspire Aboriginal youth to take on the challenge of a business education and explore the multitude of possible careers available to them with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from ESB.

“Manage This”

We provide you an interactive power point presentation and materials that are intended to engage students in an exercise that teaches them a basic lesson of finance in a relevant way.  This exercise uses community based examples of financial decision making that requires youth to consider a basic finance lesson in the context of actual group decision dynamics.

Conferences

A great way to develop a professional network is to volunteer to assist at a conference.  We often get requests for students who might assist at upcoming professional conferences as volunteers at the registration desk, to make up conference kits, to act a “runners” during break out sessions, and otherwise be of assistance as required.  This is a great way to get a sense of the developments in industry as well as develop a network of business contacts.  You also get to participate in the conference with any associated registrations fees being sponsored.

Career Fairs & Trade Shows

There are many opportunities to promote a business education by staffing booth displays at career fairs and trade show.  Often there is opportunity to participate in the attendant conference as well.  Display and materials are provided to greet booth visitors with information about ESB programs and services.

As an ESB Rawlco Aboriginal Business Student Ambassador, you may be provided an honorarium for your time and any associated expenses will be reimbursed or otherwise provided.  Consider volunteering!
