Director's Message![]() Noreen Gregor, MBA, CADirector, Master of Professional Accounting Program Thank you for your interest in the Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc) Program. MPAcc is a graduate degree program that develops exceptional accounting professionals and business leaders. First offered in 1998 to a class of 17 students mainly from Saskatoon, in recent years the program has grown to a class size of more than 60 students from across Canada and internationally. MPAcc is delivered on the U of S campus over two consecutive summers, beginning in May and ending in August. In the eight month intervening period the majority of students return to their homes to work at a Chartered Accountants’ (CA) approved training office. Many of these employers provide partial or full funding of the MPAcc program. During the two summer sessions, senior faculty members lead the program’s interactive and integrated seminars, and high-profile guest speakers add excitement and relevance to the learning experience. The ideal candidate for the MPAcc Program is pursuing the CA designation, has been successful in a four year undergraduate accounting program or has equivalent Canadian accounting education, and appreciates the value of a graduate degree. Other factors we consider when choosing candidates include relevant work experience at a CA firm, strong (B+ and above) grade point average, and professional skills including the ability to communicate effectively, lead groups, work in teams, and adapt quickly to change. Students who are accepted into the MPAcc program and are pursuing a CA designation must also meet the requirements of the CA School of Business.
