MPAC 803:  Financial Reporting and Accountability

This course provides a review and extension of students’ knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.  In addition, by examining the financial statements of several publicly traded companies, participating in case analyses, and reading current financial accounting literature, students will learn how to integrate and apply their extensive technical knowledge in a wide variety of organizations.

In this course students learn to:

  • apply skills learned in MPAcc 801 to recognize and understand the vision, mission and goals of numerous profit-oriented, not-for-profit, and government organizations
  • apply technical skills learned in undergraduate study to these same organizations to recommend appropriate financial accounting policies, and
  • recognize and account for several types of unusual financial transactions
