MPAC 806: Assurance for Modern Business, Government and Not-for-profit Organizations
This course examines the provision of assurance in modern business, government, and not-for-profit organizations. You will be introduced to several areas in which assurance is provided, and study in detail financial statement audit and review engagements. You also will study the provision of related professional services, which are not designed to provide a specific level of assurance.
In this course students:
- develop an in-depth knowledge of the theories, concepts, practices and methods for the selected topics in the course
- develop an ability to perform an audit and report the results thereof in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards
- develop other professional skills such as critical thinking, oral and written communication skills and awareness of professional codes of conduct
