MPACC Course Descriptions

MPAC 810:  Professionalism, Skills, Application and Integration

This course, the capstone in the Master of Professional Accounting Program, focuses on application and integration of multi-disciplinary knowledge required for the successful practice of professional accounting. Personal competencies and professional skills are developed through active learning using business simulations, article reviews, workshops, discussion and reflection.  The course design assists students in preparing for professional accounting examinations.

In this course students:

  • identify and discuss problems, issues and trends in the accounting profession
  • integrate multi-disciplinary knowledge in identification and analysis of complex business problems
  • apply technical knowledge and pervasive skills in the context of business problem-solving   
  • experience the process of competency-based exam writing
  • reflect on learning processes, monitor progress toward learning goals, and revise strategies for improvement.
