The General Business major is one of the preferred major for ESB students who seek to be a business generalist. Students completing the 2006 curriculum are not eligible for the General Business major (see Management for new major requirements).
You do not have to be a specialist in order to obtain a good position with an employer after graduation. Many employers actually prefer to hire individuals with a broad range of education as opposed to excessive depth in one particular area. Individuals with broad skills may be more suited to adapt to today’s rapidly changing business environment than those with a narrower background of education. If you value breadth of education over depth, then the General Business major is for you.
